The Free Press will introduce Const. Deller to the community in the near future.
Meanwhile, police are investigating an alleged assault of a 21-year-old Rutherglen man outside Club Corowa on July 26.
The club’s CCTV showed the man sitting in his vehicle when a group of six approached.
Sgt Steve Marshall said the footage showed one of the dragging the man out of the vehicle and assaulting him.
“Due to the high quality of CCTV at Club Corowa, police have identified everyone and are speaking to all parties,” Sgt Marshall said.
“There is no justification, no matter what, for assaulting someone, particularly in a pack mentality.”
Two 24-year-old Corowa locals responsible for the assault have been banned by Club Corowa and will held to account by Corowa Police.
Sgt Marshall also said he was disappointed that the message about drink driving was not getting through.
“We pulled over two cars recently and had a 100 per cent hit rate,” he said.
“It makes you wonder, just how many people are running the gauntlet.”
The highway patrol from Albury has been in the area over the past week targeting traffic offences with random breath tests, random drug tests, safety offences and seatbelts.
The message is simple; do the right thing or you will be caught.
