Thirteen new graduates are set to fill out the ranks at Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS).
Eleven nursing graduates started at the end of January and will work in several departments throughout the health service including acute, theatre, Sheridan, oncology, district nursing services and renal dialysis.
Two allied health graduates have started in primary health, one in physiotherapy and podiatry.
“It’s exciting to have such an array of graduates this year with all different experiences who are eager to learn and further develop skills and knowledge in health care,” quality, education and risk manager Sara Pettifer said.
For 2022 the nursing cohort includes seven registered nurses and four enrolled nurses.
Liam McConnell has moved back to Kyabram after completing his Bachelor of Nursing with LaTrobe University at the Mildura Campus and will be working on the acute ward.
Georgie Jenkins also studied at La Trobe University and will start her first rotation at the Sheridan aged-care facility.
Joan Solilap is from Kyabram and she studied with Charles Sturt University and will have her first rotation on the acute ward.
Nhi Huynh completed one of her clinical placements at KDHS during her nursing studies at Victoria University and will have her first rotation on the acute ward.
Cressa Vymel has relocated from Melbourne to join the KDHS team, with her first rotation being in Sheridan aged-care.
Sapanjeet Kour studied at the University of Melbourne, has worked as a registered undergraduate student of nursing (RUSON) with an interest in aged care.
She will start her graduate year with the district nursing team.
Emma Jansen is a new graduate who has studied at LaTrobe University and is joining the Sheridan aged-care team for her first rotation.
Jessica Townsend will join the endorsed enrolled nursing (EEN) graduate cohort and will start her graduate year in the acute ward.
Felicity Watson is from Mooroopna and completed her Diploma of Nursing with Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE in Shepparton.
Felicity’s previous experience as a personal care assistant will be beneficial when she starts her first rotation in the Sheridan aged-care facility.
Tatura’s Kristy-Lee Ralph is undertaking her first EEN graduate rotation as part of the Sheridan aged-care team.
Sharon Whatman, from Mooroopna, has a background as a personal care assistant and she has become an endorsed enrolled nurse by completing her Diploma of Nursing.
Her first rotation will be in theatre.
Rebecca Maw recently completed a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine at Charles Sturt University in Albury.
Rebecca grew up in Deniliquin and is passionate about rural health.
She is also working in the diabetes high-risk foot clinic at GV Health, which is an area she is particularly interested in.
Stephanie Hawken completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2021.
Prior to this Stephanie has also completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University.
Stephanie originates from Melbourne and has strong family links to the Goulbourn Valley area.
