Parkland Golf Club is planning a complete redevelopment of the clubrooms, which will see an al fresco extension on the existing facility, as well as upgrades to internal amenities.

The club has received a $200,000 grant from the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.
The original project cost was around $400,000, but with increasing building costs and additional works, the club is looking for help from the community to help fund the project, which will now cost $550,000.
Club president Greg Ryan says the club is $150,000 short of being able to do the full works.
“We would like to invite the community and businesses of the Kyabram area town and district to get behind this project,” he said.
“Yes, it is a golf club, but when this will be finished it will be a super facility for the community of Kyabram. This isn’t just for the benefit of the golfers but for the whole town.”
Mr Ryan says the club wants to ensure the project is completed to its highest standard so the people of Kyabram can be proud.
The upgrades and extension will give the club the ability to host a wide range of events and become a base for the community.
“We will get the benefit of it as golfers, but everyone in Kyabram will benefit from being able to use the facilities,” he said.
“We expect it will draw more visitors and tourists into the town, which will help boost the local economy.”
The redevelopment won’t affect any events that run at the golf course and there will be a temporary entrance for members and visitors while the work is being conducted.
The club is inviting the community and businesses to an information evening on Wednesday, May 11, at 5:30pm at the Parkland Golf Club.
“It’ll be a good opportunity for people to come down and see a detailed explanation of what is planned, and we will be able to answer any questions they have,” Mr Ryan said.
