He has been the man behind the delivery of Kyabram P-12 Collge Classroom to Court program, which is part of the state government funded positive start program and operated in conjunction with Tennis Victoria.
Classroom to Court is a four-week school-based program, aligned to curriculum and delivered by the Kyabram tennis coach.
He was in his element for the final day of the event, which was a fun and inclusive event at the Lake Rd club.
Movie makers, employed by Tennis Victoria to film the Kyabram event, were on site to gather footage to use in YouTube and Internet promotions of the Classroom to Court program.
David Starling said the initial weeks of the program had been conducted at the school grounds, with the final day being at the club.
“It’s about hitting a few tennis balls, but also about getting out having some fun,” he said.
He said the program had been conducted at a variety of other schools in the region, including at both Tongala primary schools.
“I’ve been conducting the program with Years 3 to 7 students.
“Part of the program is that the last session is held at the club.
“In the last two days we have had more than 200 students here for the three sessions,” he said.
