The Echuca Moama Centennial Probus celebrated its 20th anniversary on Monday, June 16 at Rich River Golf Club.
Over 80 people, including 10 of the club’s founding members, attended the occasion, which coincided with a general meeting.
Founding member Murray Jones spoke about the club’s inception following the meeting, when 36 community members met back in 2005 to form a new Probus group.
“Our club has grown and flourished over the past 20 years, largely through a concentration on the Probus goals of friendship, fellowship and fun,” he said.
Mr Jones said he and his wife, Judy, had enjoyed attending Probus meetings and activities, and looked forward to more in the future.
President Carol Guille invited former president Brian Sharpe to cut a special 20th birthday cake before the break for morning tea.
Members who were marking their birthdays were also recognised at the event, and a comprehensive slide show of past outings and activities was shown.
The social club for retirees currently has over 120 members, with more on the waiting list.
