Lancaster has announced its arrival as a Kyabram District League netball powerhouse by claiming the scalp of Shepparton East in the second round of competition on Saturday.

Shepparton East was fresh off a 51-goal opening round win, but lost the game by 30 goals to Lancaster (35-65) as the Wombats backed up a nine-goal first round victory against Stanhope.
Lancaster coach Michelle Hill said the team had set a goal of playing finals this season after finishing last season in 11th place with five wins from 16 games.
“There is a real buzz around the club and I’m really looking forward to seeing what this team can achieve this season,” she said.
The Wombats led by 10 goals at quarter-time and outscored their opposition in every quarter of the match.
Chiquita Vick was a dominant force in goals and finished the match one shy of a half-century, with 49 of the team’s 69 goals.
She started in partnership with Lexi Thomas, before spending the last half alongside another recruit Alyssa Trebilcock.
Phillipa Inglis and Charli Westerveld spent the entire game in defence, while Cassie-Lee Westley and Caddison Mulholland worked in tandem through the midcourt.
Lancaster shot 19 goals in the third term and at the least break led by 23 goals.
· An 11-goal third term from Girgarre goaler Jacqui Gahan has landed the Kangaroos back-to-back wins to start the season.
After an eight-goal win against highly-ranked Tallygaroopna in the opening week of competition, Gahan finished the game with 25 goals as her team finished with a 10-goal win (44-34).
Stanhope trailed by three goals at quarter-time after Jemma-Marie Wright shot seven first-quarter goals for the Lions.
However, by half-time the margin was six after Holly Nelson and Sheree Starling combined in the midcourt for Girgarre to create several turnovers.
Wright continued her good form and finished the game with 26 goals, supported by Jinaya Nurse in the goaling circle.
Stanhope made several changes in the second half, Taylor Sutton moved into defence to work with Erin Hopkins.
However, it did not stop the Girgarre onlsaught as Kimberley Hanna finished the game strongly for the Kangaroos with five final-term goals (and 19 for the game).
