Radio and TV broadcasts went dark when the January 9 bushfires caused damage to the Mt Alexander transmission tower.
The damage severed broadcasts in large parts of the Bendigo broadcast area, but transmission issues reported reaching as far north as Echuca.
Campaspe residents reported experiencing patchy or no service throughout the region.
WIN Television Transmission wrote on its Facebook page that field service technicians attended the scene on Saturday, January 10 and found “significant” damage to the infrastructure.
“We are all working on solutions to restore services; however, no time frame is available at this stage,” the post said.
WIN News said repairs to the transmission tower were expected to take between one and three weeks due to extensive damage.
“We note that initial restoration may be a reduced service, but rest assured all broadcasters are working as fast as they can to restore broadcast services,” it said.
Until then, Campaspe Shire Council has advised residents can get access to news related to the bushfires through its Emergency Dashboard on the council website.
