The State Emeregency Service has advised renewed rises are occurring along the Murray River at Torrumbarry Weir, where minor flooding was expected yesterday.
Barham can expect an extended flood peak, where moderate flooding is occurring.
“Along the Edward River, minor flooding is occurring at Deniliquin,” the SES reports.
“River levels at Stevens Weir peaked on Tuesday, where moderate flooding continues.
“Floodwaters from the Edward River combined with floodwaters from the Billabong Creek may cause minor flooding at Moulamein.
“Floodwaters from the Murray River combined with floodwaters from the Edward River may cause minor flooding at Wakool Junction late September.”
The Murray River at Wakool Junction may reach the minor flood level of 8.8m by September 28-30.
The SES warns that low lying areas may be impacted by inundation, and recommends that equipment and livestock be moved to higher ground.
Despite a drop in river levels following the peak, the Edward River at Deniliquin is still at a minor flood level.
The peak of 5.64m passed through Deniliquin Monday last week.
The river has been slowly receding ever since, but yesterday there was a slight increase in the heights - from 5.52m Sunday to 5.58m yesterday.
The Edward River at Stevens Weir downstream peaked at 6.01 metres on Tuesday and is currently at 6m and steady, with moderate flooding.
The Edward River at Moulamein was expected to reach the minor flood level of 4.6m yesterday.
The SES advised that Amors Rd, Dhuragoon Rd and Narcurrie Rd may be impacted.
