More than $1.4 million in contracts have been awarded to deliver five key infrastructure projects aimed at boosting safety, drainage and accessibility across the region, Greater Shepparton City Council has confirmed.
The largest of the contracts — $628,499 to Jarvis Delahey Contractors — will deliver stage one of the Marungi St drainage project in Shepparton, which started on Thursday, October 30. Works will replace old brick drains with new concrete pipes and pits between Knight and Nixon Sts, with completion expected by March 2026.
The same contractor also secured a $294,026 project for drainage and a shared path along Carroll Rd, part of the Shepparton East Drainage Scheme addressing long-standing flooding issues.
In Murchison, GR Design and Construct will build a new public toilet facility at Riverbank Garden for $255,625, featuring three unisex and one accessible unit, with work to begin in February 2026.
Moretto Building will construct a 60-metre boundary fence at Tatura Park for $182,686, and Cleave’s Earthmoving & Drainage will complete stage two of the Ganges Shared Path in Kialla for $120,599.
Mayor Shane Sali said the projects reflected council’s commitment to safety, accessibility and local economic growth.
