The Shepparton Animal Shelter will be participating in the Victoria-wide ‘Mission Adoptable’ special event this week.
Visitors to the facility will be able to adopt a dog, puppy, cat or kitten for a reduced fee of $50.
“Cats and dogs make wonderful companions,” Greater Shepparton City Council manager of environment Sharon Terry said.
“It is important to remember that adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment requiring care and responsibility.
“Adopting not only changes the life of the dog or cat you adopt, it also helps the shelter to have more space to receive animals in need.”
The event will be held on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21 between 10am and 2pm at 125 Wanganui Rd.
All available animals will be desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Hopeful adopters are encouraged to complete the online questionnaire prior to arrival.
It is available on the council website, along with the profiles of animals up for adoption.
