The perfect way to cool down on the hottest day of spring so far was by heading to Stanhope, grabbing a drink and taking in the great atmosphere of the Stanhope Food and Wine Festival.

Attendees turned up in droves to Birdwood Ave on Sunday, October 5; some in cars, others getting a shuttle by horse-drawn carriage.
The street came alive with an array of gourmet food stalls and local wineries, offering a tantalising selection that drew crowds throughout the day.
Festival-goers cooled off with ice creams, indulged in melt-in-the-mouth gluten-free doughnuts and sampled gourmet bite-sized charcuterie boards from a new stall that quickly became a crowd favourite.
Adults revelled in the incredible performances by musician Tim Richards, band JB and Me, and mesmerising Indian Fusion dancers.
Meanwhile, children enjoyed a range of activities, including face painting, arts and crafts, and the ever-popular jumping castle.
The festival was the third of its kind held in Stanhope and was brought to life by the Stanhope Development Committee and a group of dedicated volunteers who were up before the crack of dawn to set up Birdwood Ave.
The Free Press was on location in Stanhope on Sunday to capture all the festival highlights.
The 2025 Stanhope Food and Wine committee was deservedly celebrating another successful year even before everything was wrapped up.
