The current Stanhope Health building will be demolished and a new facility to be constructed with the goal of providing contemporary healthcare infrastructure that will support the provision of primary health services to Stanhope and district for the future.
Echuca’s Bourke Builders has been appointed as the building contractor for the project with completion set for April 2021.
KDHS board chair Dale Denham said being able to provide the Stanhope community with a modern facility to meet the community's needs was an exciting prospect.
“We acknowledge that this has taken a while to get to this point, however, now that the builders have been appointed, it is full steam ahead as the project is due to commence mid-November 2020”.
KDHS chief executive Anne McEvoy said the Stanhope Senior Citizens clubrooms would be utilised in order to support the delivery of services during the building program.
“We are most grateful for the support of the Campaspe Shire Council and the Stanhope Senior Citizens’ Club for allowing us to collocate services on-site in the building next door to our current centre. This will ensure that KDHS continues to provide services over the next six months noting that this may provide a small inconvenience for some members of the community.”
