Stanhope Primary School students roll into school

The amount of kids that remain active over the past 40 years has dropped, according to the Bicycle Network. Eighty per cent of students walked or rode to school four decades ago compared to just 20 per cent today.

“Our school participates in Ride2School and Walk to School every year because we like to encourage having an active and healthy lifestyle,” Stanhope principal Christine Owens said.

“We do that with food and exercise. Many of our kids belong to many sporting clubs as well, so that keeps them healthy.”
