The town pulled off another incredible day on Sunday, October 4, when people coming from every point of the compass descended on it for the 2026 Stanhope Food and Wine Festival.
And every one of them was treated to a wonderful celebration of the town, bringing together locals, visitors, stallholders, entertainers, sponsors and community groups for a fantastic day of food, wine, music and fun.
Stanhope Development Committee president and festival committee member Glenda Cowie said the festival committee wanted to offer “a huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a success”.
“We were thrilled with the amazing turnout and loved seeing so many people enjoying everything our festival and our town have to offer,” she added.
My, Stanhope, what big teeth you have - that was the message in the children’s entertainment area.
“A special thank you goes to all our wonderful stallholders and vendors, who brought along such a great variety of food, wine, gin, boutique beers and local products.
“And our fantastic entertainers – Tim Richards, Drew Walker and Ryan Guy from The Wildlings – kept the music going and helped create such a great atmosphere throughout the day.
“Of course, an event like this simply could not happen without the generous support of our sponsors. We sincerely appreciate everyone who supported the festival and helped us provide such a great community event.
“And finally, a very special thank you to the many volunteers who worked behind the scenes.”
The music stage kept people entertained throughout the day, which came with perfect weather to complete the celebration.
Glenda said that included setting up early in the morning, helping throughout the day and then staying behind to pack everything away.
She said their time, hard work and dedication are what make this festival possible.
“The festival is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when our community works together,” Glenda explained.
“We are incredibly proud of everyone who played a part and grateful to everyone who came along and celebrated Stanhope with us,” she said.
“Thank you for helping make our festival such a memorable day – we hope to see you all again next year.”
