From Monday to Friday, August 25 to 29, a slew of literary-themed events followed this year’s Book Week theme, ‘Book an Adventure’.
Library and communications assistant Meg Sargant said the library team gave it their all, organising various unique activities for the students.
“The students are the main reason we do this,” she said.
“People ask why we go above and beyond, and why it gets bigger every year, and for us, our students are why.”

Following that, Zoos Victoria staff from Kyabram Fauna Park visited to give the students insights about their work in animal conservation.
The library was opened for its exhibition, with stalls set up throughout based on a range of topics, including geography, evolution, and travel souvenirs.
Author Amelia Mellor, known for her Grandest Bookshop trilogy, visited on Tuesday, which Ms Sargant said was a triumph.
“We were very lucky to have her visit us at our school,” she said.
“She came and spoke to our Year 5 and 6 students, and did a mini creative writing workshop ... which was really fun for our students.”

For the week’s finale, a virtual reality workshop was held by Education Group, digitally immersing students in the ocean, the animal kingdom, and in space.
Perform Education acted out its Treasure Hunt show to the Preps and Year 1 students, bringing Book Week characters to life.
To top it all off, the school held a free movie night for students, staff and families with a well attended screening of Paddington to wind down the week.
The library was transformed into a Booktacular hub.

Overall, Ms Sargant said Booktacular was revered by the students, and acted as a uniting force for the school and beyond.
“The event was really a reflection of our passion and our appreciation for what we can provide our students,” she said.
“We’re supported by not only our students, but our families, the school community, and the bigger community.”
