The Pigdon family were pleased to be invited to the promotion ceremony for local born Thomas Pigdon recently.
After nearly 25 years of service for the RAAF, Thomas has been promoted to Flight Sergeant and is now posted to Williamstown RAAF Base at Newcastle.
Thomas’ father Bruce Pigdon OAM too the opportunity to present Thomas with his grandfather’s (Jim Pigdon) original RAAF cap from his WWII uniform.
The Wing Commander detailed Thomas’ service record that included seven deployments to the Middle East as part of 37 Squadron, with many contact missions, adding that this promotion was not just a reward for years of service but something he has earned.
It is recognition for his ability to lead, his competency and dedication in his role and the respect he is held in.
Thomas thanked his superior officers for the trust they have always shown in him to better equip him to serve his country.
