The foreshore redevelopment is done, and now the Tocumwal Foreshore COmmittee is armed with new tools to keep it looking fun-seeker ready.
The small committee of 12 has recently purchased a brand new 1025 John Deere tractor with a 54 inch cutting deck.
It also has the ability to take front end loader and other attachments as needed.
Group member Gary Hiles said the tractor was purchased locally using funds from Foreshore Committee activities.
“Town Beach and the Foreshore Markets have enabled the committee to make this purchase, with the total cost being 99.9 per cent raised from out of town.
“The small group does not rely on locals to fund all their activities, but everything raised goes back into foreshore projects.
“About $500,000 has been put back into the community in the last eight years.
“A couple of examples are the splash park and the solar lights along the levee path.”
