In late November, Year 3 students from Kyabram P-12 College visited the centre for a crafty morning that saw the different generations hand paint rocks together.
From Thursday, December 18, the rocks will be hidden around Kyabram, with rewards on offer for anyone who returns them to Sheridan.
“It’s really about bringing the community and the children to Sheridan,” the centre’s lifestyle co-ordinator, Lisa Francis, said.
“A lot of residents might not have family come to visit as much, and same with the children ― a lot of them might not have grandparents that live in the area.”

Around 30 rocks were painted, which will be accompanied by wanted posters advertising their reward when they are hidden around the community.
College community connections co-ordinator Janine Kreymborg said she hoped the initiative would get the students thinking about their connection to elderly residents.
“I just feel some of them think, well, when you're old, you go to a nursing home and that's it, there's no more,” she said.
“To be able to talk to them, to an adult, and have respect for them, too, I think is great.”
Once the rocks have been exchanged for the surprise rewards, Ms Kreymborg said the students could return in the new year to create something new with them, such as a garden bed.
Kyabram P-12 College has an ongoing partnership with Sheridan Aged Care, making regular visits to the centre for various activities.
The rock painting project is part of a global movement, with Facebook groups dedicated to users posting their found rocks.
