WHEN I GROW UP: St Patrick’s, Tongala

Caleb Greenshields: ZOOKEPER “I am going to be a zookeeper, or something where I can work with animals. I really like doing stuff with animals. We have just moved to a farm and I have asked for a lamb. I have visited the fauna park and I did the zookeeper for a day experience at the park. I am the oldest of three. My younger brother wants to be a farmer, but I’m not sure about the other one.”
Zac Wakenshaw: MATHS TEACHER (said while smiling broadly at his teacher Katie Rasmussen) “I want to be a maths teacher, maybe teach other things. There are no teachers in the family, but Mum works in the office at St Aug’s and my dad works in the army and with G-MW. I want to help people learn like Miss Ras does. I am good at maths. My brother is 18 and he is in Townsville working for the army. He is involved with Talisman Sabre. The army is a back-up plan.’’
Shila Cleveland: NETBALL PLAYER “I want to be a professional sports woman, a netball player. It is what I love to do. I play with Tonny under-13s. We may still make it to finals. I play wing defence or attack and I like running, so the midcourt is good for me. I’ve done a lot of other sports, but I like netball the best by far. I am the only netballer in the family.’’
Georgia Fitzallen: DOCTOR “I want to be a doctor, because I like helping people and sick people need the most help of all. There are no doctors in the family, so I would be the first. I want to provide a service for people, one that can help them feel better. I have older siblings, one is a graphic designer and the others really don’t have a plan for later in life.’’
Jacob Henderson: WATER BROKER “I want to be a water broker, like my mum. It involves a lot of maths and I love maths. She divides up the water among the people that need it. I only made this decision a month or so ago, but before that there wasn’t really anything that appealed to me. She works for RuralCo now, but has spent a lot of time in this field.’’
