Nominations for the 2024 Moira Shire Australia Day Awards are closing soon, so make sure you get your nomination in before November 30.
If you know of an individual or organisation that has endeavoured to enhance and provide for the local community or instil a sense of community spirit and awareness, why not put them forward?
Australian citizens who have made a significant voluntary contribution during 2023 or have given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years are eligible.
But it’s not just individual people that can be nominated.
A project or event that a school, community group or organisation has held that went the extra mile to help its local area can also be nominated.
The awards recognise the exceptional contribution of the people and groups in the community who inspire us all in six categories:
- Citizen of the Year;
- Junior Citizen of the Year;
- Young Citizen of the Year;
- Community Event of the Year;
- Community Organisation of the Year; and
- Arts, Culture and/or Environment Project of the Year.
