A MAN who broke into a Wyuna home and assaulted a woman has been jailed for eight months.

Luke Griffiths, 44, pleaded guilty in Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 21, to aggravated burglary, theft and unlawful assault.
Griffiths broke into a house in Emily-Jane Rd on July 23, 2019, through a window before assaulting the 41-year-old occupant, stealing a chainsaw and fleeing.
The woman, who was known to the man, suffered minor injuries.
Luke Griffiths was arrested in Echuca a week later and spent 52 days in custody.
On Friday, he was sentenced to eight months’ jail, with time served reckoned, and ordered to complete a 12-month community corrections order once released.
