Abandoned house burns in Mooroopna

The area, near the corner of McLennan St and Mill St, was cordoned off and firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze.

At least three fire vehicles and several police cars responded.

Sgt McCabe estimated the fire was under control before 10am.

He said the house was abandoned, and the owners had been notified.

Sgt McCabe said there appeared to be significant damage to the property.

The cause of the fire is as yet unknown.
