A NEW bike may be at the top of your Christmas list, but around town it's your old bike that Heather Darbyshire has her eye on.
Heather isn't a kleptomaniac, rather a recycler with an eye for detail and the desire to beautify the town for Christmas.
She is the mastermind of a project to recycle old bike wheels as Christmas tree frames and said her group require the help of the community to decorate the town.
“We would love the community to support the project by adding their mark through painting or decorating one or more wheels before they go up,” she said.
The bike wheels are just some of the fun and festive Christmas decorations throughout Campaspe Shire.
Mayor Adrian Weston said council had been working with community and business groups to create and install decorations in the lead up to Christmas.
“Working closely with the community ensures each town is decorated the way residents would like it done,” Cr Weston said.
Decorations will be installed by early December and will be taken down in the New Year.
