The 27-year-old is playing more minutes than in his rookie season of 2025 and his statistical numbers are also up, but Talty is not satisfied with that as Saturday night's showdown in Townsville looms.
The Broncos still believe they can defend their premiership title, but to do so they must win all remaining seven regular-season matches and then four sudden-death finals games.
Any weak links will cost them and Talty has no intention of being one of them after joining power forward Xavier Willson as the only Broncos to contest every match in 2026.
"There was probably a stage where I was lacking consistency. I'm really chasing that in my game," Talty said.
"It's great to have played every game this year and I want to continue to do.
"My minutes compared to last year have picked up and I know what I'm capable of in attack."
It is having the right mindset and "getting into the grind of a football game" that Talty and his teammates must master.
The rugged prop was strong off the bench in the 14-12 away win over Penrith last week and must back that up in Townsville.
Talty has a defensive strike rate of over 95 per cent and his average of 78m in attack is also ahead of next year.
He was also smart when asked about the upcoming Queensland derby, following Cowboys coach Todd Payten inflammatory remark that "everyone hates the Broncos" north of the Queensland capital.
Talty refused to inflame the buildup when questioned whether he "hated the Cowboys".
"I'm not buying into that," Talty grinned. "I'm not giving you anything."
Last year the Broncos won seven in a row to win the premiership, although Talty was 18th man in the grand final and did not take the field.
"We can't afford to rest on any laurels. Last year was great, but it's game by game," Talty said.
"We're looking forward to Saturday, and that's all."
