Field has been named alongside English luminaries Mikey Lewis and Jake Connor for the accolade of Super League's top player of the season.
The 27 year old, who had spells with St George Illawarra and Parramatta in the NRL before becoming a sensation in Super League over the past four seasons for his electric running at Wigan, is hoping to become the 10th Australian to win the award since it was introduced in 1977.
His teammate Bevan French, with whom Field has set up the most exciting double act in the British game while they've been at the Warriors, was the last Australian to lift the award a couple of seasons ago.
This season, Field has again been brilliant for the world club champions, scoring 24 Super League tries and assisting on 21 others as Wigan finished second in the league standings to earn a semi-final spot in the playoffs.
But he has his work cut out to prise the award from last year's winner, Lewis, the 24-year-old halfback who guided Hull KR to their first League leaders' Shield and could next become only the second player to win back-to-back Man of Steel awards after St Helens' England international Paul Sculthorpe in 2001 and 2002.
Leeds stand-off Connor was the key man in helping the Rhinos secure their first top-four finish since 2017
The shortlist and winner of the 2025 accolade, named in honour of former St Helens star Steve Prescott, is determined by a panel of former top players who have awarded points to the top three players in each of the 161 fixtures of the regular season.
The winner will be crowned at the annual Rugby League Awards Night in Manchester on October 7.
