Bridge started the first three games of the season in the No.13 jersey hoping to build an influential centres partnership with Hamish Stewart.
But Bridge has been named on the left wing for Saturday's clash in Dunedin, allowing for Divad Palu to be named at outside centre.
During last week's 35-19 win over Moana Pasifika, Bridge suffered an embarrassing moment when he burst through the defence and into the try zone without realising an opponent was still giving chase.
Bridge was tackled as he casually went to touch the ball down, resulting in a fumble and a disallowed try.
The 19-cap All Blacks back recovered from that moment to play a vital role in the win, setting up the next try minutes later and scoring a try himself further on in the match.
Force coach Simon Cron was full of praise for Bridge, labelling him the "MVP" against Moana.
And given Bridge has spent much of his career on the wing, Cron wants to use his expertise there for what is expected to be an aerial barrage from the Highlanders.
"He's playing brilliant rugby. Bridgey is on fire at the moment, so it's got nothing to do with his performance," Cron said of the positional switch.
"The reason for the shift is a little bit more technical, tactical than anything
"He's earned the right to play in both of those positions, but he is great on the left edge, and he's also great under a high ball, which is a big part of the game this week.
"And Divad had an amazing pre-season,
"So it's just important that we continue to layer guys in, to give them the experience and continue to build depth."
Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph was one of the main contenders for the All Blacks job before it was awarded to Dave Rennie this week.
Joseph immediately reached out to Rennie to congratulate him, and Cron isn't expecting Joseph to take out his disappointment on the Force.
"I can't imagine that will influence his game plan too much and what he wants to achieve," Cron said.
