The program is considered the primary pathway for Victorian athletes to be considered for state 17 and under representation, while also providing an opportunity to learn from some of the most highly regarded netball minds in the country.
Only the top 25 to 35 athletes in each region are selected into the program each year, those of which were narrowed down through a trial held in October.
The 15-year-old made her mark this season with Mooroopna Football Netball Club’s under 17s and was regularly called up to their senior A grade and B grade teams.
She also represented the Goulburn Region under 15s at the Netball Victoria State Titles last month, making it all the way to the final.
Jazmin said she was surprised, and ecstatic, to get the nod after being overlooked by the academy last year.
“I’m hoping I can gain more skills to go to that next level,” she said.
Jazmin’s mum, Jenn Clark, said she couldn’t be prouder of her daughter’s achievement.
“She was really nervous and hesitant to open the acceptance email, but once she did her face lit up,” she said.
“It’s an unbelievable accomplishment and it’s that next step on her pathway towards her ultimate goal.”
