Hosted by Rumbalara Football Netball Club, the two-day summit will bring together young people, prominent Indigenous speakers, entertainers, community leaders and prospective employers on Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30.
The event, carrying the theme “Invincible Spirit”, is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 9 to 12.
It has been designed to help students explore their ambitions, discover potential career pathways and develop their leadership skills while celebrating culture and community.
A keynote address, youth leadership panel and question-and-answer session will headline the summit’s program.
Students will hear from a group of speakers who have pursued their ambitions and made an impact in their respective fields, including rapper, actor and author Briggs, Matildas soccer player Jada Whyman, Melbourne AFL player Kysaiah Pickett and Australian basketballer Leesa Mi Mi.
The guests will share their experiences, achievements and practical advice with the participating students, with young people also given an opportunity to ask questions during the panel discussion.
Live entertainment will be provided by Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Virendali artist Miss Kaninna will perform alongside Badjala and Juru artist Birdz.
An interactive stall expo will showcase employment and training opportunities available across the Goulburn Murray region..
Students will be able to meet local employers, training providers and community organisations while learning about potential pathways in trades, agriculture, health, technology, sport and the creative industries.
The expo will also give attendees an insight into the skills currently in demand and allow them to begin considering the steps needed to enter their preferred profession.
Cultural enrichment and leadership development activities will run throughout the two days, exploring identity, culture, shared visions and the future of the region.
Students will take part in conversations with their peers, Elders and community leaders, including Natartsha Bamblett, Sarai Atkinson, Chris Warrior and Philly.
The activities aim to build respect, understanding and pride while providing students with the confidence to contribute ideas about the future of their community.

The Nanyak Burras Youth Summit will run from 8.45am to 2.30pm on both days at Rumbalara Football Netball Club, 20 Mercury Drive, Shepparton.
