Congratulations and thanks to Yarrawonga Mulwala Tourism and Business and all associated with the formula powerboat event, which is hopefully bringing huge numbers of customers to local traders, and certainly creating a carnival atmosphere around town.
ClubMulwala Snooker Club has conducted the first rounds of our Autumn Pairs event with victories so far to Ben Dundee and Dave Arazuhaldzic and Luca Macheda and Darren Edwards putting them in strong positions for later rounds. The best of five frame format with four singles and a closing doubles often produces close finishes to these contests, so there is plenty of good snooker to look forward to for all players.
Monday, April 22 saw the playing of our annual Anzac Tribute event, which is dedicated to the sacrifices of our armed forces personnel. In a very welcome return to form, Tony Cincotta rose to the occasion to take out Darren Thompson in the final and claim this very prestigious event. Tony then proceeded to defeat Darren Edwards in the social event of Wednesday, April 24 to confirm his comeback to form, and an associated reduction in his playing handicap. The social event of April 17 was taken by a resurgent Ashley Nicholls who, up against a large field, prevailed over Nev Page in the final.
As can be seen on the ClubMulwala website, its members newsletter and our ClubMulwala Snooker Club facebook page we welcome new members or anyone who may like to give snooker a try. ClubMulwala sponsors our club very generously so our value for money ratio for players is very high indeed.
There are a variety of events held every Monday and Wednesday evening and there are plenty of opportunities for new players to join or come along to try our facilities out. We have two excellently maintained full size tables, which have recently been re-surfaced and a new state of the art lighting system. Our snooker room is available for competition, practice and visitor use, and the club has its own regularly updated handicapping system to ensure players from beginners to advanced level can compete equally. There are also plenty of experienced and skilled players (including the current Oceania Masters champion) who can help with advice and tips on how to improve your game or perhaps adapt it for those who have played pub or social pool in the past.
Please contact us on either 0497 062 443 or 0418 361 779 or visit us on a Wednesday evening before 7pm if you would like to give snooker a try.
