While the weather threatened throughout, the sustained rain held off until the closing stages of the senior grand final, sparing spectators a soaking as they took in the earlier contests.
While Kyabram triumphed in the seniors, Shepparton Bears, Echuca and Seymour had a monopoly over the other title races, despite valiant efforts from the likes of Euroa and Mooroopna.
Shepparton Bears had numerical bragging rights, claiming three flags on the day.
The highlight was the main event A-grade netball clash, where Shepp completed a dominant unbeaten campaign, crushing perennial contender Euroa 62-41.
While this was the Magpies’ third straight grand final, for only one win, the Bears are celebrating the A-grade title for the first time in their history.
Earlier, Shepparton also came out on top in 17-and-under netball and thirds football, taking down Mooroopna in both instances.
The 17-and-under clash was closely fought, and the Bears escaped by only two goals, 30-28.
The thirds football was much more clear cut, Shepparton obliterating the Cats by 102 points, 19.14 (128) to 4.2 (26).
Echuca went two for two on the day, as both its 15-and-under and B-grade netball sides came away with the premiership.
The Murray Bombers opened the day with a 53-50 win over Mooroopna in 15-and-under netball.
Seymour led Echuca 7-0 in the B-grade decider, but the Murray Bombers fought back to win 44-38, completing their finals run from fifth position.
Along with its victory over Kyabram in the reserves, Seymour also successfully defended its B-reserve title, defeating Euroa 45-29.
