With prolific goal shooter Kim Borger departing for Gisborne, Shepparton has turned to Tongala front court dynamo Amelia Brock to spearhead the Bears’ attack, making her return to the Goulburn Valley League after seven seasons.
Brock was a key member of Tongala’s drought-breaking 2024 A-grade flag before featuring heavily again in this year’s charge to runner-up, draining more than 500 goals.
With top-grade netball experience and leadership to burn, the towering goal shooter will be an immediate lifter for a Bears outfit hopeful of probing deeper into finals,
However, the ex-Seymour goaler isn’t the only threat opposition back courts will have to contend with.
Victorian Netball League and Melbourne Mavericks reserves goal shooter Ashlea Mawer has also aligned with Shepparton, after tallying almost 700 goals for the Championship-winning Hawks.
Mawer boasts a resume’ that includes half-a-dozen Tasmanian Netball League MVPs, but that’s not all she’s bringing – a VNL teammate has joined her in putting pen to paper.
Talented defender Olivia Barnett is bound for Deakin Reserve as well, bringing title-winning experience to the table as Shepparton targets a deep run into 2027 finals.

Meanwhile, at Princess Park Shepparton Swans rising star Jaylah Meda’s netball trajectory continues to track upward.
The teen goaler topped the Swans goal-scoring in 2026 and that form-guide hasn’t gone unnoticed by VNL club Bendigo Strikers, who have strengthened their GVL connection further by adding Meda to their 23-and-under squad.
“A dynamic and accurate goaler, Jaylah brings great ability to the shooting circle, and we’re excited to see her take the next step in her netball journey with the Strikers,” the club said in a statement.
