In their fourth win for the season, the Blues defence leaked only 1.4 for the match while their forwards piled on 23.20 in a lopsided affair from start to finish.
After a moderate start in which they kicked 3.4 while holding the home side to 0.1 in the first term, Tongala gained momentum as the game progressed and a 7.6 final term to Barooga’s solitary goal blew the winning margin out to 98 points.
Tongala skipper Kyle Fitzgerald said it was a win all Tongala players contributed to, some more than others.
Tongala had a spread of goal-kickers, headed by fly-in Darwin recruit Cam Ilett, who bagged four and Nate Dear, Matt Daniel and Max Trigwell all with three and Alex Williams two.
Williams at half-back and midfield was also a key prime mover for his team, along with Ilett, the consistent Jack Hammond and Fitzgerald, who controlled the ruck all day.
Trigwell at half-forward and winger Jack Sinclair were also busy players for the winners.
Tongala will be looking to post its fifth win for the season and extract some revenge for an unexpected first-round loss when it hosts Echuca United this Saturday.
In the reserves, the Blues also picked up the win in a more competitive game, 10.14 (74) to 6.1 (37).
Sam Tyler was on song for Tonny, kicking four goals, while Bryce Denham added two on his way to best-on-ground honours for his side.
In the under-17s, Tongala got up 10.9 (69) to 4.1 (25).
Barooga actually logged 18 of its 25 points in the first period to lead at quarter-time, but the Blues held the Hawks scoreless through the middle quarters to easily run over the top of them.
Jedd Turpin kicked four majors and earned best-on-ground honours.
The Hawks turned the tables on the Blues in the under-14s, shutting out Tonny 30.15 (195) to 0.
