Along with Tongala’s A-graders, a swathe of Blues lower-grade sides have made their way into the finals picture.
All 3v6 finals will be held in Deniliquin on Saturday, August 30, while Congupna will host the 4v5 eliminators on Sunday.
Sides in the top two have a week off before joining the finals race in grand final qualifiers at Echuca South Recreation Reserve on Saturday, September 6.
Football
In the reserves, Tongala (10-8) made its way into the finals in sixth but will be an underdog against 16-2 Cobram.
The Tigers have been well on top in previous meetings, winning by a combined 185 points across two regular season encounters.
In the under-17s, Tongala (11-7) progressed in fifth and will take on Deniliquin Rams (13-5).
The Rams got the best of the one previous meeting, picking up a 19-point victory.
Netball
Tongala has been the dominant force in netball in the Murray league senior ranks, a perfect 54-0 across B-grade, C-grade, and C-reserve.
The Blues' perfect 18-0 in B-grade is followed closely by Echuca United at 16-2, the two sides to battle for grand final qualification after a week's rest.
Tongala also holds court in C-grade, preparing to take on Congupna (15-3) in the qualifier.
In C-reserve, the Blues will face up to Rumbalara (13-1-4) with a grand final berth on the line.
While not as dominant as their senior clubmates, Tongala’s juniors will all also feature in the post season.
In 17-and-under, Tongala (11-6) ended in fifth and will battle Cobram (12-5) to keep its season alive.
The Blues come in with confidence, having defeated the Tigers by 11 goals on July 26.
In 15-and-under, Tongala and Echuca United (both 10-1-7) finished fourth and fifth and will battle each other with their seasons on the line.
Their most recent clash saw Tongala prevail 25-17, while United scored victory back in round one 25-19.
Tongala, (12-6), notched fourth place in 13-and-under, and is set to take on Cobram (12-6).
The Tigers picked up a narrow win in the side’s last meeting, getting home by two goals.
