Kyabram Football Club’s list of recruits for 2024 continues to grow, with two Queenslanders, Jake Torney and Bailey Tome, the latest signings.
Torney has a Kyabram connection, with his father, Andrew, a former Kyabram junior footballer who played with the Murray Bushrangers.
He is a hard-running rebounding defender while Tome is a tough midfielder.
Both are 19 and have been in the Brisbane Lions Academy since they were 13.
This year, they played with Mr Gravatt in the Queensland Australian Football League.
According to Kyabram Football Club president John Guinan, both are ambitious young players who are moving south to have more exposure to AFL scouts.
They join fellow recruits Morrison Medallist Mick Mattingly and former local junior Eamonn Ogden, who are returning to the club.
In another coup, the Bombers will have fitness guru Russell Jarrett back pulling the fitness strings during Kyabram’s pre-season campaign, which kicks off on December 4.
Jarrett was praised highly during Kyabram’s golden run when it snared three GVL flags in four seasons from 2016 to 2019.
