The Victorian Government announced 20 clubs in the Murray Plains electorate and 16 in the Euroa electorate were successful recipients in round two of the Sporting Club Grants Program.
The program awards a maximum of $5000 per instance and is broken into four categories.
Up to $1000 was available for uniforms and equipment (category one), and up to $5000 for programs that improve the knowledge and skills of volunteers, coaches and/or officials or improve volunteer retention (category two).
In Murray Plains, Kyabram Bowls Club, Kyabram Football and Netball Club, Kyabram Junior Football Club and Kyabram Pony Club each received category one funding and Tongala Football Netball Club was successful in category two.
Girgarre Football Netball Club, Stanhope Football Netball Club, and Stanhope Tennis Club all received category one funding, while Stanhope FNC was also successful in category two.
Clubs could also earn $1000 for accessibility, governance and engagement, $4000 for new or modified sport or active recreation programs, and up to $750 was on offer for individuals dealing with overheads after a representative selection.
“With the cost of living continuing to rise, anything that helps reduce barriers to participation is welcome,” State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland said.
“This investment will boost engagement across our regional clubs and help ensure sport remains accessible and inclusive for everyone.”
