March has been a busy month for Kyabram Croquet Club members competing in the annual club championships.

In the first week, section two championships were held, with four players competing in very close games.
Cameron Kelly was the winner, with five out of six winning games, ahead of runner-up Mick Sullivan with three wins.
Congratulations to the winners, and well done to all those who competed.
Unfortunately, Kelly triggered his handicap to a section one position during the event, making him ineligible to represent Kyabram in section two at the next stage of the championships in Shepparton in April.
Runner-up Sullivan will compete in his place.
Members played their best the following week, competing for this year’s club champion honour in section three.
Eight members competed, with five of those new members.
Special mention to Shane Russell, Brian Pollard, and Alan Londey, who have only been members for around six months but still had excellent scores, resulting in either a win or a very close match.
It was only in the final round of the draw that a winner was finally decided.
Congratulations to section three club champion Sue Agosta, who won six games, 47 hoops, and runner-up Brydon Edis, six games, 46 hoops. Such a close finish.
Thanks to all the members who volunteered their time during the competitions.
They set up/packed up courts, acted as referees, organised the draws, helped new members with handicap cards, cleaned the clubroom, washed dishes, etc.
But the biggest thanks must go to Kelly and Agosta, who acted as our scorers/recorders and thoroughly checked all handicap cards.
Thank you, competitors and volunteers, for making the event so successful.
We wish Sullivan and Agosta all the best in April during the next stage, when they will play in the regional champion of champions in Shepparton.
From Shepparton, the winner will compete in Melbourne against all other regions in Victoria.
