This week saw the Division 4 Deni RSL Diggers take on Lockington at home.

It was a tightly fought contest all day, with the Diggers winning overall by four shots.
The team of Rod Reid, Ian McKenzie, Peter Thommers and Sandra Hill suffered a loss of six shots, never managing to get in front all day, only winning eight ends.
Final score was 20 to 26.
Niels Hilton’s team of Jake Glenn, Danny Stanmore and Craig Taylor got up by nine shots after a very even start.
Only winning the ninth end, they picked up a six.
Lockington didn't recover, only scoring nine more shots to reach a final score of 26 to 17.
The pressure was then on Ron Marchetti’s team, being the last rink to finish, with Lockington only needing three to win overall.
With Lockington winning five of the last six ends, scores were close at 17 to 18 shots.
Marchetti’s team of Tony King, Archie Webster and Neville Austin took a two on the last end to win 19 to 18.
Spectators gathered on the deck to watch the final tense minutes.
Deniliquin RSL triumphed, 69 to 65.
With two winning rinks and the win, the Diggers added 14 points to their tally and are now fifth on the Division 4 ladder.
Congratulations to Archie Webster who was superb for Ron Marchetti, and took out the Diggers RSL’s best on ground award.
Due to the Melbourne Cup public holiday in Victoria, there will be no midweek pennant bowls today.
