Perhaps the best contest of midweek pennant grand final day came in the division four decider.
Echuca came in as the less-favoured participant, up against minor premier Rich River, which scored an eight-shot win against them in the semi-final.
In a game that could have gone either way at any stage, Echuca made the most of the dying moments, sealing a 43-40 victory on the final end to claim the title.
There was very little between the sides in both rinks, but Echuca managed to come out on top in each of them.
Tony Deenen’s title-sealing shot on the final end resulted in a 21-19 final scoreline, while in the other rink, Echuca’s Maxwell Bennett skipped squad had a one-shot win 22-21.
Three games clear of the rest of the league at the conclusion of round play, Rich River wasn’t able to muster enough on grand final day to get by an in-from Echuca outfit.
