Fab five still going strong

Tom Holman (second from left) was a 17-year-old schoolboy when Kyabram beat Shepparton United by 51 points in the 2013 Goulburn Valley league grand final. He was playing in a team that included his older brother, Nick, who is now at Gold Coast Suns. Nick Holman was in the crowd at Kyabram Recreation Reserve on Saturday for a 10-year reunion of the team that broke a 16-year drought. Five players who played in that 2013 flag win are still playing with the Bombers today and another, Paul Newman, is coach. They stood with coach of the 2013 premiership team David Williams on Saturday before the win against the Shepparton Swans. Pictured (from left) is Liam Ogden (now 31), Tom Holman, Haydn Gemmill (who was just 17 and had only played seven games in 2013), Williams, current coach Paul Newman, Rhys Clark (now 30) and club captain Jason Morgan (now 37).
