The Redbacks have a healthy premiership points and percentage break over their nearest rival Central Park-St Brendan’s with Numurkah, Karramomus, Tatura, Waaia and Mooroopna also still in mix for the six finals spots.
Defeats in the last three rounds could prove fatal for Kyabram, but one win would probably guarantee a finals appearance.
After Nagambie, Kyabram hosts Mooroopna before taking on Tatura at Tatura in the final round.
Players will be eager to get the third last round under way after a stuttering start to the post-festive season with fires forcing the cancellation of one day’s play and no play in a general bye across the Australia Day weekend.
Nagambie has its share of talented players and a batting line-up which contains some class acts in Mitch Winter-Irving who has made 202 in his last two knocks.
Zac Winter-Irving, Mark Nolan, James Wilson and Tom Barnes are other Nagambie batters capable of posting a winning score for their side.
But they will have to contend with a Kyabram pace attack led by Jackson McLay and star recruit Sam Langley and potential match-winning spinners in Louis Sabbagh-Holt and Alec Young, who are among the best in the business.
Kyabram’s batting line-up also has plenty of depth, led by All Australian Kyle Mueller, back-in-form opener Billy McLay, veteran star Paul Parsons, Cade Mueller, Kyle Fitzgerald and Lukas Hanslow who are all capable of helping their side post a match-winning score.
But it is bound to be an absorbing duel.
