The team, which made the grand final last year and has been unbeaten this season, has five of its 10-strong squad eligible to play Under-13s next season.
Regan Scoble and Gemma Tomasini have helped the side climb to the top of the ladder and both are eligible to play at the same level next year, alongside Kade and Tayla Starling and Lilly Camin.
Coach Sheree Starling said the team’s closest game this year was against Murchison-Toolamba in the season’s final round, winning 25-9.
The side had two players missing and Jaida Miller was playing her first game since breaking a finger.
“Our best win was against Stanhope with a 75-0 scoreline,’’ she said.
“Our attack that day was unstoppable and they had no answer for Regan’s size in GS.
“Our full-court defence is the best part of our game, with all players being so determined and competitive.
“We haven’t had that many goals scored against us all season.
“The fact that we all played together last year has helped with the connection both offensively and defensively,” she said.
Starling started coaching multiple junior teams in 2014 and has had teams in finals since.
Of the 17 teams she has mentored, 14 have made finals — the best being the Under-15s premiership in 2018.
There were also runners-up sides — the Under-15s in 2017 and the Under-13s last year.
“We have what the kids call ”the best team manager“ in Mel Munro,’’ Starling said.
“She treats the kids to lollies (she knows everyone’s favourite) during the game and fresh fruit and chocolate milk after each game.
“She also challenges them by giving them targets to keep them focused and motivated.’’
Jaida Miller: GK, GD, WD — Jaida is a strong defender with a passion to learn, improve and play her best. Jaida’s parents played for Girgarre and her pop is a much-loved life member.
Jorji Dedini: GA, GS,WA — Jorji is one of our vice-captains who never gives up. She is a confident shooter that works hard and communicates well on court.
Kade Starling: C, WA, WD — captain Kade is a little pocket rocket. His efforts are super and he has a great ability to read the play. He leads by example with his determination and spirit.
Katelyn Munro: WA, WD, GS — Katelyn is one of our midcourters who makes great space and leads well to the ball. She is a motivated and dedicated player.
Lilly Camin: WD, GK, GD — Lilly is a versatile defender who puts a lot of pressure on her opponent. She doesn’t give up easily and works hard.
Regan Scoble: GS,GA,GK — Regan is new to netball and has impressed with his skills. He is hard to shut down and is a big target for his teammates.
Skye McKiernan: WD, WA, GK — Skye is a quiet achiever. Her ability to read the play has improved immensely which has helped her pick up many loose balls.
Sophie McDonald: GD, GK, GA, C — Sophie is one of our vice-captains and is a super competitor. She works hard all game and doesn’t give up. She’s a great defender but has the ability to play any position on court.
Tayla Starling: C, GA, GS, WA, GD — Tayla is our most versatile player who regularly plays multiple positions in one game. She excels in all aspects of the game.
