The protest came after Bruce Reynard had been struck by Kyabram rover Noel Healey, who was reported and was later given a three-week suspension for the indiscretion.
Mick Souter kicked four goals for Tongala and Bowers three for the Bombers, who were best served by Russell Barrett, Mark Mackinder, David Shaw and an eye-catching youngster named Kelly O’Donnell.
