Saturday was a tough day at the office for Kyabram 17-and-under netballers and under-18s footballers.

In the round nine Goulburn Valley League action, the Bombers’ two junior sides suffered losses to Shepparton at Deakin Reserve.

The Bombers’ 17-and-under netball contingent went down to a stronger Bears outfit by 30 goals.

Natasha Dodos battled away hard in goals, while Isla Carver and Allana Kuiper provided support through the midcourt.

The team ended up losing 71-41.

Meanwhile, it was a closer tussle in the under-18s football, with the young Bombers overrun by Shepparton in the final quarter.

Leading by seven points at the final break, Kyabram was unable to halt the barrage from the Bears, who piled on 3.6 to 1.1 in the last term to run out 10.11 (71) to 9.7 (61) winners.

Bohden Learmonth and ruckman Oliver Watt were some of Kyabram’s top performers, while Cooper Fawcett slotted three majors.
