Chasing Elmore’s respectable 6-156, Tongala openers Alex Williams with a half-century and Rory Knight (41) wiped 68 off the run chase to set up the win.
With Jack Donnell leading the way with 65, Fire Brigade’s 9-189 proved well out of reach for the Cooma batters, skittled for 47 on the back of a fine bowling spell from young pace bowler Steve George, who took 5-21, and Steve Grima with 3-3.
Cooma didn’t have one batter reach double figures.
Stanhope’s 7-143, of which Brad Stewart contributed 32 and Daryl Harrison a top score of 35 not out, was enough to get it the points against BLU, dismissed for 91.
Lachy West with 4-25 and Craig Emmett with 3-30 did the damage with the ball for Stanhope.
C-GRADE
Rylan Cunningham produced a career-best bowling performance as Girgarre bowled Rochester out for 32 in 18.4 overs.
Cunningham took a sensational 7-14 off seven overs and it took the Girgarre batters, led by Rhys Febey with an unbeaten 27, just seven overs to secure the win.
Fire Brigade won a high-scoring shoot-out with Stanhope.
Experienced hands in Brendan White (36), Scott Hearn (37) and Corey Carver (37 not out) helped the Brigade to a lofty 9-245.
In reply Stanhope lost only two wickets with Tanner Stokes scoring an unbeaten 55 but it got well behind in its run chase and was restricted to 209.
Bailey Hiscock with 31 top scored in Cooma’s 9-96 against Echuca, who lost only four wickets, securing the win in 18 overs.
Callum Tucker (48) and Luke Woolan (20) guided Tongala to a four-wicket win over Northern United.
D-GRADE
Four-wicket hauls from Barty Carver and Ross Laurenson enabled Fire Brigade to restrict Echuca South to 67 off 23 overs, but it was not enough to get their side the win.
The Brigade batters crumbled for 62 in 23.5 overs with Sam Vick’s 16 the top contribution against the Luke Gundry’s (5-12 off eight overs) Echuca attack.
Nicolai Henery made a defiant 35 out of Tongala’s disappointing score of 58 which was covered by Echuca in 25 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Rushworth lost only two wickets in securing a win in 26 overs against BLU.
Opener Dan Newton batted through the Rushworth innings and got plenty of support from Jarryd Sheppard (24 retired), Jack Barrett (21 retired) and Josh Francis (15) as Rushworth reached 2-133 in reply to BLU’s 5-129.
