Kyabram Football Club’s next batch of Hall of Famers may not to be named until next year.
Club games record holder and chair of the committee selecting the next batch of inductees, Tony McDonell, said a delay in the revamp of the Wilf Cox Complex was behind a decision to delay honouring players and former players with Hall Of Fame status.
“Our (Hall Of Fame) committee is keen for the function to be held in the club’s spiritual home, the Wilf Cox complex,” McDonell said.
But he added there is doubt the current works at the complex will finish this year.
‘‘We are just waiting to see what happens before we set a date, but we want to hold the function in the Wilf Cox complex
McDonell predicted there could be up to six new inductees with some also being considered for legend status.
“Our committee has been active in producing worthy possible inductees,” he said.

I have been taken to task on my best players from the recent Kyabram-Tatura GVL clash.
Somebody wanted to know how a Kyabram player didn’t make my best Kyabram players in the game, which the Bombers won by 160 points.
It was disclosed after I had written my report that Riley Ironside had kicked seven goals in the win, which my critic claimed should have earned him an appearance in my best players.
When I said I wholeheartedly agreed, the venom went out of my accuser’s tone.
I explained there had been a mix-up in who had kicked Kyabram’s goals in that match, which was a night game, and I wasn’t aware of Riley’s goals tally.
