Under-17 boys
An opening round win against Murray Valley was built on the back of a 27 run opening stand from captain Hudson Kellett (14 from 12 deliveries) and vice-captain Archie Teasdale (25 from 25 deliveries).

Rhys Drennan (18) and Oliver Williams (not out 17) contributed to the 18.5 over 6-97 total, which came after Murray Valley had been restricted to 5-93 from its 20 overs.
Teasdale took two wickets from his four overs to stand out with bat and ball.
– After a round two bye the GMC chose to bat against Bendigo after winning the toss.
Kellett (20 from 23 deliveries) had four different batting partners as the GMC was 5-44 before Williams (15) and Lucas Holgate (not out 18, from 15 deliveries) led the recovery.
GMC was all out for 81 afer 18.5 overs in the Twenty20 format, then had Bendigo 5-5 on the back of 3-13 from Drennan’s four overs.
A sixth wicket stand of 58 got Bendigo back on track and it eventually scored the winning runs in the final over, with three deliveries to spare — finishing at 7-82.
– GMC rebounded against Sunraysia, despite losing Kellett and Teasdale cheaply at the top of the order. Drennan scored 31, off 33 deliveries, while Liam Stephens was not out 18 at the end of the 20 overs — which reaped 8-89.
Sunraysia managed only 7-79 in reply, Drennan and Dallas Price taking two wickets apiece.
– A four run loss to Shepparton in the final round came after GMC fell just short of its opponent’s 4-109 total.
Teasdale (27) and Lucas Holgate (29) led the charge, sharing a 52 run stand, but GMC finished at 8-105 from 20 overs.
– Shepparton ended up winning the title, beating Bendigo with 10 wickets in hand and four overs to spare.
Under-17 girls
Three teams contested the Northern Rivers Junior Country Week division, Gisborne the only unbeaten team after three games in the rain affected carnival.
After a round one bye and a round two washout GMC was beaten by Bendigo in round three after scoring 8/64 from 20 overs.
Bendigo reeled that total in from 16.2 overs, losing just four wickets in the process.
After being sent into bat and GMC was 6-29 before Maisy Byrne scored 20 from 24 deliveries, supported by Grace Riddell and Jasmine Griner, who was not out seven at the end of the innings.
– The scenario against Gisborne was almost a carbon copy, GMC again sent into bat and finishing with 3-87 from 20 overs.
Captain Mia Elliott was outstanding with an unbeaten 46, from 59 deliveries (including two boundaries) after both openers were dismissed without scoring.
GMC was 3-24 before Elliott and vice-captain Miranda Crawford (not out 12 from 44 deliveries) put on 63 for the fourth wicket.
Gisborne scored the winning runs in 15.3 overs.
– GMC’s only win came in the final match, against Bendigo, when — after again being sent into bat after losing a third sucessive toss — they scored 8-89 from 20 overs.
Elliott again led by example, scoring a run a ball 44 (including four boundaries) and supported by Crawford (14).
Taya Munro and Beatrix Bray both took three wickets, Munro from just 1.3 overs, while Sadie Martin took two wickets as Bendigo was all out for 68 in 17.4 overs.
Under-16 boys
GMC opened its tournament with a five wicket win and had more than three overs to spare in the match with Murray Valley.
Bowling, after winning the toss, Kade Pearse (the ninth bowler used) took 3-7 from 3.4 overs to support Bill Hipwell and Oliver Barnett.
Murray Valley was all out for 138 in 40.4 overs before the GMC top order took control.
Hamish Stewart hit one boundary in his 16 and Pearse backed up his work with the ball with a 97 all-34 run contribution. GMC was 5-139 after 36.3 overs.
– After the round two match was abandoned, the GMC team sent Bendigo into bat and had the team 5-48 before a middle order revival.
Riley Carver (2-27), Jessie Johnstone and Barnett all took wickets, along with Hipwell, but a 10-7 run sixth wicket stand and a wagging tail saw Bendigo finsih with 9-230 after 45 overs.
Pearse was again outstanding as he had nine different batting partners in compiling an unbeaten 65 (from 107 deliveries, with four boundaries).
GMC finished with 7-153 from its 45 overs and missed the final, which ended as a tie between Bendigo and Shepparton.
Under-15 boys
GMC lost on Duckworth Lewis in round one against Shepparton, despite a remarkable effort from spin bowler Will Harrison.
He took 5-15 from 6.3 overs as Shepparton was bowled out for 151 in 38.3 overs.
In reply, GMC was 2-38 from 15.3 overs when rain forced a stop to play.
– Round two was completely washed out before Seymour dominated the GMC and skittled the team for 34.
Seymour batted first and was all out for 130 in 41.5 overs.
Under-14 girls
GMC made a massive 199 from its 37.4 overs against Gisborne in the opening round, on the back of an unbeaten 75 from Alexis Iddles.
Sophie McDonald supported her with 27 as the score was amassed from 37.4 overs.
Rain ended the Gisborne run chase after 10.3 overs, GMC captain Chloe Moyle taking two wickets.
– After a round two washout the third round match with Bendigo saw the GMC lose by 50 runs.
Bendigo batted first and despite Iddles doing her work with the ball this time (3-11 from six overs) and Lacy Parsons taking two wickets they scored 8-146 from 40 overs.
Cadence Major made 30 from 43 deliveries in the GMC run chase, but only Sophie McDonald (10) made double figures of the remaining batters.
GMC was all out for 96 in 26.4 overs.
Under-14 boys
GMC’s decision to bat against Bendigo after winning the toss in round three was backed up by Antonio De Pasquale’s unbeaten 28 (from 41 deliveries).
The team, however, was all out for 103 in 37.5 overs and, in the run chase, Bendigo was 5-104 off 28.4 overs.
– In the rain affected round one match the GMC lost on the Duckworth Lewis method, chasing Murray Valley’s total of 134.
Six individual bowlers took wickets, with Paddy Westerveld taking 1-16 off six overs and Jack Force 1-9 from three overs.
GMC captain Ben Henson (31) and vice-captain Ryan Caldwell (20) were supported by De Pasquale (12 off 22 deliveries) as the team finished 9-102 off 32.3 overs.
Under-13 boys
Jack Halstead set up the GMC round one win against Seymour with a 27 run top score, backed up by Rhys Parsons (14) and Asher Rasmussen.
After 20 overs the team was 5-105, then Jonty Sefton produced a spectacular hat trick to have their team all out for 36.
Sefton took 3-2 from two overs.
– Sefton took another two wickets, as did Halstead, in the match against Shepparton. The Shepparton team batted first and was 9-98 at the end of 20 overs.
In reply, GMC faced just 15.3 overs and lost on Duckworth Lewis when it was 6-65 - Rhys Parsons (17) top scoring.
– GMC beat Murray Valley by 16 runs and then won by a single run in a thriller against Bendigo.
Halstead made 11 not out and Harry Rasmussen 16 as the GMC was 7-78 at the end of 20 overs. Bendigo finished with 9-77 from its over allocation, Archie Sheppard the GMC’s hero with 3-9 from four overs.
– In the final, GMC was chasing a Bendigo total of 6-85, but was all out for 63 in just 17.5 overs in the pursuit.
GMC captain Judd Cuttriss took 2-5 from three overs, then top scored with not out 21 (from 41 deliveries).
Under-12 boys
GMC bowlers Aiden Greiner and Max Johns took four wickets as they bowled Shepparton out for 48 in just 23.1 overs.
They lost just one wicket in the run chase and rounded in the total from just 17.4 overs.
– After a round two washout the team then beat Bendigo by seven wickets, bowling the highly regarded opponent out for 92 and then losing just three wickets in the run chase.
Seven GMC bowlers took wickets, with Seth Hunter claiming 2-5 from three overs. Bendigo was all out in 31.2 overs and the run chase took just 25.5 overs.
– An Aiden Greiner hat trick in the final of the tournament was a feature as GMC claimed the title by dominating Shepparton, after being sent into bat.
Cooper Rasmussen was the star, the Rochester junior scoring 45 from 68 deliveries and supported by Finn Cullen, captain Max Johns and Heath Ogden.
Aiden Griener made a late 15 not out to also contribute to the 8-147 total from 40 overs.
Shepparton lost its first five wickets without scoring as Aiden Griener skittled the top order. He took 4-15 from four overs, including a triple wicket maiden.
Five other bowlers took wickets in the carnival victory.
