It was a successful day out in round two of Goulburn Murray Tennis Association for the Kyabram Lawn Tennis Club with all five of its teams getting a win over the weekend.

GM2 Kyabram Bombers 10-78 defeated Nathalia 1-24
The GM2 Bombers side got back on track after a first round loss against the reigning premier.
The Bombers showed why they have been a force to be reckoned with in the last two seasons, flexing their muscles against Nathalia.
Regan More was a standout, playing in the number one position, he was able to dominate and completed the day only conceding one game.
Winning his singles 6-0, mixed doubles paired with Sheree Starling 8-0 and dropping his only game for the day 8-1 with David Starling.
In what was a dominant men’s performance, the Kyabram men only conceded three games in the four men’s sets, as Kade Starling won his singles 6-1 and then father David Starling combined with a returning Mitchell Dodos for a dominant 8-1 victory.
Xavier Dodos also had a strong day, winning his singles 6-0, and doubles sets with Taylah Starling 8-2 and finally combining with Kade Starling 8-3.
In the end, the Bombers were just too strong winning the match by 54 games and getting their season back on track with a dominant victory.
In round three, the Bombers will head to Gather Round with an interesting match up against the Numurkah Raiders.
GM3 Kyabram Bombers 7-65 defeated Euroa Unicorns 3-38
Fresh off a derby victory in the first round, the Bombers looked to continue their strong start to the season against the Euroa Unicorns.
With the Bombers getting an early leg up due to illness, the Unicorns had to forfeit three of their sets, putting them on the back foot.
In the men’s singles, the two teams showed that they were evenly matched with Mitchell Cox getting the Bombers off to a strong start with a 6-2 victory.
However, the Unicorns responded with an impressive 6-3 victory.
In the men’s doubles, it was again a tight battle between the two sides with both teams getting an 8-6 victory apiece as Greg Tarrant and Ben Dickens combined for the Bombers victory.
In the sole ladies doubles match for the day, Abby Prycroft and Marissa Hooper combined for a strong 8-6 victory to give the Bombers a strong lead going into the mixed sets.
Again, the teams were evenly matched with the two sets being split right down the middle with Mitchell Cox and Abby Prycrofts 8-2 victory being cancelled out in the other mixed doubles.
In the end, the Bombers managed to sneak a one-game victory in the games that were played, however, following the forfeited sets the Bombers got a strong 25-game victory.
The Bombers will look to continue their undefeated start to the season when they head to Yarrawonga for a match against the Euroa Rancho Rulers.
GM3 Kyabram Redbacks 11-93 defeated Tatura Custers 1-33
The Redbacks bounced back after a shock defeat in the first round to show that they are going to be a dominant force in the division, dismantling the Tatura Custers in round two.
Justine McConnell in her return following a couple of seasons off, was a dominant force only conceding four games for the day.
Combining with Marg Haw for an 8-0 victory, Shylee Donaldson for an 8-1 victory and son Sam McConnell for a strong 8-2 victory.
Barry Norton a life member and previous club champion also made his return to the club after a few seasons off and showed that he has not missed a beat.
Norton combined with Darren Woodcock for an emphatic 8-1 victory, Sam McConnellf or an 8-3 victory and finally another strong victory with team captain Susie Bennett.
Other undefeated players on the day were Bennett, Woodcock, Donaldson, Graeme Elliott and Haw.
This led to a resounding 60 game victory for the Redbacks to show they are well and truly back.
In round three, the Redbacks head into Gather Round with a match up against the Cobram Cobras.
GM4 Open Kyabram Bombers 8- 67 defeated Numurkah Raptors 1-46
Following a Round one loss in a grand final rematch vs the Tatura Twisters, the Bombers responded with an emphatic victory against the Numurkah Raptors.
New recruit Cameron Heard was the standout on the day with a strong set of results.
Heard combined with Scott Hausler for an 8-4 victory, Perry Jackson for the most one-sided set of the day 8-2.
Heard finally partnered Father Phil Heard for a hard fought 8-6 victory.
Hausler was also a strong presence for the Bombers taking an 8-2 victory paired by Jackson.
Hausler also combined with Amy Harrison for a close 8-6 battle.
The other undefeated players on the day were Michael Argaet and Jackson.
Only dropping one set for the day, the Bombers managed to secure a strong 21-game victory to get their season heading in the right direction.
In round three, the Bombers will take on competition newcomers and undefeated Shepparton North.
GM4 Open Kyabram Redbacks 5-56 defeated St Andrews 4-56
The GM4 Open Redbacks were looking for their first ever win in the division against fellow competition newcomers St Andrews.
The match ended up being the match of the day across all divisions with a hard-fought close contest from start to finish.
Stand-in captain Rachael Costello was leading from the front scoring two 8-6 victories with Leah Dennis and Hugh Cunningham.
Cunningham was the standout on the day, going undefeated for the afternoon and also gaining an 8-6 victory with Leah Dennis and an 8-1 victory with fill in for the day Chloe Berner.
This strong victory in the end was the match that managed to give the Redbacks the edge.
Although the games at the end of the day were even, the Redbacks managed to get the edge with one more set victory for the day.
The win was the first for many of the young Redbacks in their first season of senior tennis including Chloe Berner, Lachlan Rodriquez, and Luke Motton.
The Redbacks now finish up prior to the Melbourne Cup Weekend bye with a win and a loss and looking to build their way into the season.
The Redbacks will make the trip to Shepparton for Gather Round against the Cobram Crickets.
GMTA action will now take a week off due to the Melbourne Cup, with the next round of matches being the annual Gather Round where all of the matches of one division are played at the same venue.
