Ky sides clean up in KDTA

Kyabram did the double in the Kyabram District Tennis Association in senior round three, Kyvalley picking up wins at home and on the road in the senior section.

Kyvalley Black was clinical in an 8-72 to 2-44 win over Girgarre at Girgarre Tennis Club.

The men’s fixtures were particularly lucrative for Kyvalley, with Ryan Cooper and Jared Mioni both scoring singles wins, and both doubles also going Black’s way.

Girgarre returned a little respectability to the scoreline with wins to Faye Smith and Beck Seabrook in their women’s doubles, while Smith teamed with Cameron Kelly for another set win.

In the other fixture, Kyvalley Red proved too strong for Undera, scoring the win 7-63 to 3-40.

Similarly to the other fixture, the Kyvalley side claimed both singles sets, with John Forde scoring a 6-0 win, while Xan Booth posted 6-2.

Red’s women held up their end as well, Melissa Williams and Ella Forde the highlight of the women’s doubles in an 8-0 thrashing.

Undera had some bright spots, including Tilly Forde and Rob Watts pairing for an 8-0 win in the mixed doubles, but Kyvalley had the advantage on the final scorecard.

In the junior divisions, which kicked off this week, section two featured Kyabram Lawn Tennis defeating Kyvalley White 5-41 to 3-35 and Kyvalley Red taking down Girgarre 7-44 to 1-19.

In section three, the combined Kvalley/KLTC squad took down the pure Kyvalley outfit 4-28 to 1-20.
