Winning the toss and batting, Numurkah posted a gettable 6-165, with Riley Dawson the main stumbling block for the Kyabram bowlers with a half-century.
English import and left-arm spinner Louis Saabagh-Holt, with 3-33 off nine overs, was the only multiple wicket-taker for Kyabram, while pacemen Jackson and Charlie McLay and Angus McKenzie were the most economical.
Apart from opener Paul Parsons, Kyabram’s top order batsmen floundered badly, at one stage crashing to 6-62 with main batting hopes Kyle and Cade Mueller and Bill and Charlie McLay failing.
Parsons, who top scored with 31, was at the crease while Kyabram put on 100 runs and some late knocks from Angus McKenzie (29) and Jackson McLay (19 not out). Connor McLeod and Sabbagh-Holt were able to put some respectability into Kyabram’s final score of 136.
Tim Braybon, with 4-19, did the most damage with the ball for Numurkah.
Kyabram gets a chance to get its first win this Saturday when it hosts Tatura.
Kyabram’s B-grade side also suffered a heavy loss to Numurkah.
Numurkah made 185 despite a top spell of bowling from Nic Chambers with 4-20 off nine overs. But it proved in vain, with Kyabram out for 91 in reply.
Lukas Hanslow (22) and Ross Brown (20) put up the most resistance with the bat for Kyabram, which fell for 91.
Kyabram’s E-grade side was the shining light for the club on the day with a big win over Katandra.
Recruit Paul Wickham blasted 96 with 8 fours and 7 sixes and Mak Coates made an unbeaten 40 as Kyabram lost only three wickets, covering Katandra’s score of 157.
Anthony Evans, with 4-36, was Kyabram’s most successful bowler.
