The vote count took place at the Kyabram Club on Tuesday, September 16 from 6pm and saw numerous players honoured alongside some hard-working club members.
One such club member was committee member Claire Burrows, who was awarded the Antonio DePasquale Memorial Award for her tireless work behind the scenes.
“The award that I got was a bit of a surprise, I thought someone else was getting it, so I was a bit shocked,” she said.
“I don’t do these things to get awards, my son has been playing soccer since he was in under-six, so I guess I’ve been around the club for a while.”

Burrows also reflected on the evening, with the club having to split up its presentations due to the overflow of members and players in 2025.
“It was a good night, we had close to 200 people,” she said.
“The vote count was only for the two under-12s and two under-14s teams, the junior teams had an end-of-season break-up.
“Normally, we do it as a full club, but we have too many people now.
“Everyone had a nice time by all accounts, it’s a great venue, and it all went off well.”
Tyler Nicholson was named the under-12 Black best-and-fairest.

“To have the two under-14 teams to make the grand final was great for our club and that age group,” she said.
“One of the under-12 teams made a grand final as well, so I’d say it was a successful year for the Ky Knights.
“At that under-14 level is when a lot of kids can turn off sport, so to have so many kids still playing in those higher age groups is a very good thing.”
